Meet the Laramie Colts Coaches

Coaching Career: Coach Goodwin begins his 3rd year at Neosho County after 1 year at Highland Community College. Before HCC, Coach Goodwin spent two summers (2001 & 2002) as a Co-Head Coach of the Lawrence (Ks) Outlaws AAA Legion baseball squad, two springs (2002 & 2003) with Lawrence Free State High School where in the spring of 2003 he was an assistant coach on the schools 1st ever state qualifier, and the summer of 2003 as an assistant coach for the Lawrence Raiders AAA Legion baseball team who captured the Legion AAA State Title.

As a player, Coach Goodwin spent two years at Highland Community College (1997 & 1998) before transferring to the University of South Dakota where he still holds the career records for Earned Run Average and Saves. Also, during his college career, Coach Goodwin spent three summers (1997, 1999, & 2000) with the prestigious Clarinda (IA) A’s which included helping the A’s to a tie for 4th place at the NBC Tournament in Wichita, and the summer of 1998 with the Lindsborg (Ks) Black Sox where he finished in the Top 10 in ERA while helping to lead the Black Sox to an 11th place finish.

PLAY FOR THE COLTS

To play for the Colts in 2008, you must be a student at a junior or four-year college and have eligibility remaining in accordance with NCAA regulations. High school students and non-NCAA players (such as former college players), as well as those who are under a current professional baseball contract, cannot play for the Colts or in the MCBL.

In order to play for the Colts, a student-athlete must receive written permission from his university.
