We have background information about our team to help you get acquainted with out team players and coaches. As you can see we've taken the pastime of baseball seriously and plan to showcase the best team in the region for Colts Baseball games.

 

 

 

 

 Chris Brown Hits a single in our opening game against the Cheyenne Grizzlys. Chris was a temporary player with us the first two weeks of the season.

 

Head Coach: Nathan Schwartz

Assistant Baseball Coach, University of Texas of the Permian Basin Aug 2007-present; NCAA Coaches Certification, Team Pitching coach, helped lead team to Heartland Conference championship first time in school's history in 2009, in first year of eligibility.  Has had 3 players sign professional contracts, 1 Heartland Conference player of the year, 14 players named all conference.

At Eau Claire Express of the Northwoods League (2008-2009) coached 14 players signed or drafted by Major League Baseball teams, Assistant coach for team going to first post season birth in 2009. Was also pitching coach of 2009 South Division All Star Team.

AT TECH IN 2009: Chason pitched in 10 games for the Golden Eagles, including five starts…pitched a total of 40.1 innings…pitched eight innings and allowed four hits in a win against Alabama A&M and recorded five strikeouts in the performance…pitched 2.1 innings against Jacksonville State in the OVC tournament and allowed three hits while striking out four batters, and pitched six innings in a start against Jacksonville State the very next day, also fanning four Gamecock batters…finished with a 4.91 ERA and a 1-2 overall record with 25 strikeouts and 31 walks.

AT TECH IN 2008: Chason sat out a redshirt season.

AT TECH IN 2007: During his freshman year, Chason pitched in 11 games, including two starts...allowed no hits or runs with two strikeouts and a walk in 2.0 innings pitched against
Kentucky on Feb. 24... struck out eight batters over 19.0 innings and finished the season with a 7.11 ERA.

AT RIVERDALE HIGH SCHOOL:
Earned three letters at Riverdale High School under coach Buddy Powers…played both outfield and pitcher…named Pitcher of the Year, Freshman Pitcher of the Year and all-district as a sophomore and junior… helped Riverdale win the region in 2005 and become a three-time state qualifier…also earned three letters in swimming.

Played baseball all four years for Ryan Connors' Colts ... earned second-team All-Conference plaudits his senior year after posting a 3-1 record and a 3.83 ERA ... helped the Colts to a 19-5 mark in 2009 ... as a junior, went 4-1 including back-to-back playoff wins while helping Parkway Central to the state quarterfinals ... played for the St. Louis Pirates select baseball club his senior year that won a national title in Fort Meyers, Fla. ... also played for Rawlings Prospects in St. Louis his sophomore and junior seasons ... member of the honor roll.

At UE – Seth McCabe will miss the entire 2009 season due to Tommy John Surgery...Was expected to battle for a spot in the rotation before getting injured.

2008 – A key member of the UE bullpen, ranking second on the team with 18 appearances...Went 0-1 with a 4.68 ERA...Struck out 26 men in 25.0 innings of work...Gave up just 23 hits, including just five extra-base hits, while holding teams to a team-best .237 average...Recorded nine scoreless relief appearances...Tossed a career-best 3.1 innings of scoreless, three-hit baseball at Southern Illinois (5/16)...Gave up one earned run in his final five outings spanning 7.1 IP (1.23 ERA).

Background – The 2007 Kentucky Region 2 Player of the Year at Madisonville North Hopkins High School...Earned all-state honors as a senior after recording 11 victories and a 0.83 ERA on the mound...
